MIKE ELLIOTT has produced more than one hundred feature and television films, in every genre, for such diverse companies as 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros., Showtime, Columbia/Tri-Star, HBO, Lionsgate, Paramount, MGM, USA, and Universal. His films have appeared in many major festivals, including Tribeca, London, New York, Tokyo, Berlin, Telluride, Slamdance, Milan, Sao Paulo, Los Angeles, Montreal, Toronto, and Sundance. Elliott's recent feature credits include the romantic comedy, My Best Friend's Girl, starring Dane Cook and Kate Hudson, The Eye, starring Jessica Alba in the remake of the Pang Brothers' horror classic, The Perfect Holiday, starring Gabrielle Union and Morris Chestnut, and War, starring Jet Li and Jason Statham. He is currently producing the thriller, Smokin’ Aces: Blowback, the teen comedy, American Pie: Book of Love, and the family adventure, Bones. He recently directed the Universal Studios family comedy, Beethoven’s Big Break. Other recent credits include the critical hit, Peaceful Warrior, starring Nick Nolte and Amy Smart, The Devil’s Rejects, directed by Rob Zombie, American Pie: Band Camp, starring Eugene Levy, Pride, starring Terrence Howard and Bernie Mac, and Happy Endings, starring Lisa Kudrow, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Lara Dern, which opened the Sundance Film Festival, and was presented with the Spirit of Sundance Award. Past features include the Toronto Film Festival premiere, All I Want, starring Elijah Wood, Franka Potente and Mandy Moore, which was financed independently and sold to Columbia/Tri-Star, the Paramount Pictures romantic comedy, The Prince & Me, starring Julia Stiles, and, Attraction, which starred Gretchen Mol and Tom Everett Scott, and premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and was also selected as the closing night feature at the L.A. Film Festival. Elliott also produced the Telluride Film Festival premiere, Comic Book Villains, starring Donal Logue, Michael Rapaport and Natasha Lyonne, Skipped Parts, starring Jennifer Jason Leigh and Drew Barrymore, and Ernest Hemingway’s After the Storm, which starred Benjamin Bratt and won top honors at multiple festivals including New York and City of Angels. A leader in the booming market for DVD and video sequels to theatrical features, Elliott produced Casper: A Spirited Beginning, which became and remains the best-selling non-Disney video of all time, and was honored as the VSDA’s Video of the Year. Elliott has developed and produced sequels for most major studios, including top selling sequels to the films Addams Family, Richie Rich, Timecop, Beethoven, Turbulence, and American Pie. His sequel to American Pie is the number one selling non-family direct to dvd title of all time. The Prince and Me was honored at this year's VSDA as both Family Title of the Year, and Rental Title of the Year. Elliott is now prepping a sequel to American Pie. Prolific in the world of cable features and television movies, Elliott also produced the original cable movie, Au Pair, which remains the highest rated movie in the twenty-eight year history of the ABC Family Channel. His other number one rated cable movies include The Michael Jordan Story, The Cowboy and the Movie Star, Home for Christmas, The Elian Gonzalez Story, and Au Pair II. Au Pair III is currently in postproduction. His series credits include Instant Comedy, for F/X, which ran for 65 episodes. He recently served as executive producer on a one hour television pilot, Wifey, a co-production between vh1 and B.E.T. Elliott develops, packages, finances and produces film and television projects through his Los Angeles based production company, Capital Arts Entertainment. Founded in 1994, Capital Arts njoys a reputation as one of the leading independent production companies in the world. They are currently financing the action thriller, Razortooth, and the faith based comedy, Out Righteous. They are also developing a remake of Paul Bartel's hit independent film, Eating Raoul. In addition to its own productions, Capital Arts also provides production services on features produced out of house, such as the Robert De Niro starrer, Godsend, the Academy Award winning, Capote, and the mega-hit series of Tyler Perry movies, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Madea's Family Reunion, Meet the Browns, The Family the Preys, and Why Did I Get Married? Elliott is also an owner/partner in Push, a Los Angeles-based distribution company that handles some of Capital Arts' product, and also acquires and sells independent features worldwide. Elliott began his career working for Roger Corman, at Concorde/New Horizons Corp. (formerly New World Pictures), which was then the industry’s leading independent production and distribution company. He started his tenure there as an unpaid intern, but was soon re-editing films acquired for distribution. From there he moved to marketing and distribution, and ultimately headed the marketing and advertising departments, overseeing the campaigns for some thirty theatrical, television and video releases each year. From the marketing department, Elliott helped modernize the company and transition it from a failing theatrical releasing company, to one that profitably penetrated worldwide television and video markets. Shortly thereafter, Elliott became Vice President of the company and concentrated on creating international co-production partnerships and multi-picture output agreements, which resulted in the highest sales figures for the company since its inception. Additionally, he served as liaison and producer with the partner companies, which included Showtime, Artisan, Saban and Columbia/Tri-Star. Elliott also built a label dedicated to the development and production of family films and participated in the creation and structuring of the successful domestic home video distribution company, New Horizons Video. During his time there, Elliott also developed and implemented the business and production plans for the creation of a successful full-service film production studio in Galway, Ireland. He was directly responsible for every facet of the creation of the stand-alone facility, which has produced more than twenty feature films since its inauguration. Elliott’s extensive production experience includes detailed knowledge of domestic and international tax credit structures, soft money funding, and co-production treaties. He has produced pictures in every region of the United States and in many other countries, including Germany, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Argentina, Cuba, Belize, Peru, Canada, South Africa, Philippines, Japan, Hungary, Bulgaria, Russia and Czech Republic.
