Hollywood has always loved making films using animals as the main stars. Remember the Lassie or Benji pictures? Or if that's going back too far what about the two Babe films or Cats and Dogs (they're making a sequel to that one right now) or Garfield or Scooby-Doo or...you get the idea. So is it any wonder that Walt Disney Pictures has now made a movie starring a Beverly Hills Chihuahua?

If you saw WALL-E in theaters this past summer then you've already caught the trailer for BHC but likely still don't know what the actual story is about. There is actually a premise to this film: when her owner takes Chloe on a vacationto Mexico, the pampered Beverly Hills pooch gets lost and then has to interact with the local animals to find her way home.

The movie has a stellar cast of actors providing voices for the animals including Drew Barrymore as Chloe; Andy Garcia as Delgado; George Lopez as Papi; Cheech Marin as Manuel; Edward James Olmos as El Diablo and Paul Rodriguez as Chico. The movie was directed by Raja Gosnell, which makes sense to me as he's also the same director behind the two Scooby-Doo movies. When you're going to make a movie about talking animals it makes sense to go with someone that has some prior experience in that field of entertainment, yes?
