Andy Garcia, George Lopez and Piolín yap about 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua'

The Los Angelas Times has talked to "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" voice over stars George Lopez, Andy Garcia, and Eddie Poilin Sotelo. The cast talks about meeting the dogs before they started filming and how loveable all the pooches are. They also go on to talk about why so many people signed onto the movie, what it was like to record their speaking parts, and the dogs of their own.

"...And I may be the first Chihuahua that cries in a movie. One tear! He's pretty stoic. That's a very expensive tear, by the way..."

'Beverly Hills Chihuahua' star 'discovered' at Moreno Valley shelter

The Press-Enterprise reports how a little tan chihuahua catches the eye of an animal talent scout in a Moreno Valley animal shelter. Rusco, star of the upcoming Disney film "Beverly Hills Chihuahua", attended the premiere of the comedy Thursday night. Rusco plays Papi, who goes looking for his lady love, Chloe, after she gets lost in Mexico. George Lopez provides Papi's voice and wisecrack for the upcoming film which premiers October 3rd nationwide.

George Lopez Talks About "Beverly Hills Chihuahua"

George Lopez talks to About.com about his latest voice-over role as Papi in "Beverly Hills Chihuahua". Lopez chats about his own three chihuahua's, and the real dog who plays Papi - a resuced chihuahua from a shelter. Lopez also tells About.com about Drew Barrymore and Disney. "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" is released nationwide tomorrow, Friday October 3rd.

"...it's Disney and they always do movies that pull at your heartstring and this one's no different, and it was more of a romantic story than I imagined it to be when I was recording. You read the script initially, and then you go in there and you just read your pages. So when I saw the movie, I was impressed by the sweetness of Drew Barrymore's voice..."

Beverly Hills Chihuahua on MovieSet

Hollywood has always loved making films using animals as the main stars. Remember the Lassie or Benji pictures? Or if that's going back too far what about the two Babe films or Cats and Dogs (they're making a sequel to that one right now) or Garfield or Scooby-Doo or...you get the idea. So is it any wonder that Walt Disney Pictures has now made a movie starring a Beverly Hills Chihuahua?

If you saw WALL-E in theaters this past summer then you've already caught the trailer for BHC but likely still don't know what the actual story is about. There is actually a premise to this film: when her owner takes Chloe on a vacationto Mexico, the pampered Beverly Hills pooch gets lost and then has to interact with the local animals to find her way home.

The movie has a stellar cast of actors providing voices for the animals including Drew Barrymore as Chloe; Andy Garcia as Delgado; George Lopez as Papi; Cheech Marin as Manuel; Edward James Olmos as El Diablo and Paul Rodriguez as Chico. The movie was directed by Raja Gosnell, which makes sense to me as he's also the same director behind the two Scooby-Doo movies. When you're going to make a movie about talking animals it makes sense to go with someone that has some prior experience in that field of entertainment, yes?

About.com has posted an interview with Piper Perabo and Manolo Cardona about their latest film "Beverly Hills Chihuahua". The stars chat about their surprise of what trainers where able to get their four-legged co-stars to do. They also talk about how tricky it was working with animals and kids. "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" is out in theaters and stars the voices of A-listers like Drew Berrymore, Salma Hayek, Andy Garcia and more.

"...You have to be very patient. Working with dogs, you never know what they’re going to do. You have to be aware and you have to work for them. They’re the main characters. We’re just there to support them..."
