Producer

Kirk Shaw

Bio

Over the past five years, Kirk Shaw has emerged as one of Canada's most prolific television and film producers completing dozens of feature films. An award-winning television producer, Kirk contributes over twenty-five years of business experience and production management to Insight. By 2004, Kirk had produced 16 movies, including Pursued for Artisan Pictures and Zolar for Warner Brothers as well as the nationally televised dramatic series Young Blades (PAX and Global). In 2005, Kirk put into place a $50 million production schedule that saw Insight producing a movie a month through fiscal 2005/06, and two documentary series (a 13-part series for Global TV, Vanity Insanity, and a 4-part HDTV Premiere Event special, Secret Files of the Inquisition, for national broadcast on PBS). For 2006, Kirk has a total of 23 movies slated for production as well as two TV series for an estimated $100 million. Although the primary customers for these movies are broadcasters and distributors, several of these productions are partnerships with independent producers including Insight's first self-financed theatrical release, When a Man Falls in a Forest, starring Sharon Stone. Kirk attributes his success to a unique business background that instilled in him an exceptional ability to manage teams that consistently deliver high quality projects on time and on budget. Through hard work and dedication, Insight Film has emerged as one of Western Canada's busiest independent film production companies and is ranked number 10 nationally in terms of production volume.
