Bio

With an MFA in Film Production from UBC, Lynne is a Vancouver-based writer/director whose independent feature Kissed (Seville, Lakeshore, MGM), an edgy story about a necrophilic female embalmer, created a commercial and critical stir in 1997, premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival. Kissed achieved worldwide distribution and played many other feativals including the prestigious Sundance, Cannes Director's Fortnight, and London Festivals, winning a special Jury Prize at Toronto. Her follow-up feature, Suspicious River (TVA, MetroTartan), premiered at the Venice Film Festival an played Toronto, London and many others. It was nominated for nine Leo Awards and won Best Cinematography, Best Actor, and Best Feature Film. In 2001, Lynne's third feature, Lilith on Top, a documentary chronicling Sarah McLachlan's "Lilith Fair", premiered at the Toronto, Berlin and SXSW festivals and aired on Global TV. Lynne has also ventured into the world of television, directing, among others, episodes of The L Word (Showtime), Terminal City (TMN, CityTV), Da Vinci's Inquest (CBC), This is Wonderland (CBC), and most recently GlobalTV's flagship series, The Guard. She also helmed the Chris Haddock/Pierre Sarrazin/CTV feature The Life for which she was nominated for a DGC Best Director Award. Honing her producing skills by helping her friends and mentoring others, Lynne has produced the features Kissed (Producer w/ Dean English), Scott Smith's Falling Angels (Associate Producer), and Matthew Bissonnette & Steve Clark's Looking For Leonard (Executive Producer). An outspoken supporter of indie filmmakers, Lynne proudly sits on the Board of the Whistler Film Festival.
