John Glen

John Glen was born in Sudbury-on-Thames in 1932. After an exciting childhood dodging World War Two bombs he started work at Shepperton Studios as a messenger. Graduating to the cutting rooms, he eventually became a film editor. His editing career ranged from groundbreaking television shows Danger Man and Man in a Suitcase through film classics The Third Man, The Italian Job and Superman.

His career as a director started with shooting close shots of gadgets and car chases for TV series. Legendary producer Albert “Cubby” Broccoli noticed his editing work and invited him to join the team. During the 80s John Glen directed all five Bond movies, including For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View to a Kill, The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill. John is still active in the film industry but now takes time to travel with his wife, Janine, between his homes in London and Western Australia .
