SEAN FURST and BRYAN FURST have re-established their independent production banner, Furst Films, and have entered into a first look deal with Overture Films. As part of the new arrangement, the Furst brothers have transitioned from their current roles heading up production and acquisitions for Overture. The Fursts played a key role in establishing Overture in the marketplace since the company's inception, with active involvement on such projects as THE VISITOR, RIGHTEOUS KILL, TRAITOR, PANDORUM and THE CRAZIES. JAR CITY, a project they were instrumental in bringing to the studio, will mark their first producing effort under the new deal. Other current active projects include a remake of AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON at Dimension, DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY at Universal with Richard Shepard attached to direct, THE PRECIOUS FEW at Sony with David Gordon Green attached to direct and Danny McBride attached to star, and CHEMISTRY, written by David Sussman with Jennifer Aniston and Kristin Hahn also producing. On the television side are TOUGH TRADE, an original series scheduled to go to pilot November 2009 as the inaugural show for the new premium cable network Epix (a partnership between Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM), and the UNTITLED RUSSO BROS/SIKOWITZ COMEDY pitch which the company just sold to NBC. Furst Films has produced such acclaimed features as THE MATADOR - the comedic thriller that earned star Pierce Brosnan a Golden Globe® nomination - and THE COOLER, for which Alec Baldwin received a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award® nomination. Other films the shingle produced include OWNING MAHOWNY starring Philip Seymour Hoffman; THE GIRL IN THE PARK with Sigourney Weaver and Kate Bosworth; EVERYTHING PUT TOGETHER, the directing debut of Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace); and FIRST SNOW, starring Guy Pearce.
