Susan Johnson

Johnson's most recent film, Wieners, is scheduled for an October '07 release. A comedy debut from Sony's Screen Gems division, the film was written by Gabe Grifoni and Suzanne Francis and directed by Mark Steilen. "Saturday Night Live" cast members Kenan Thompson and Darryl Hammond lead an all-star cast that includes Jenny McCarthy, Mindy Sterling, MTV's Andy Milonakis, Tenacious D's Kyle Gass, Blake Clarke and Bill Romanowski. In 2006, Johnson produced Nearing Grace, which debuted at the Los Angeles Film
Festival and was released to exceptional reviews from the New York Times, LA Times, The Hollywood Reporter, and the Village Voice. The film stars Gregory Smith, Jordana Brewster, Ashley Johnson and David Morse.
Johnson also produced the critically acclaimed Sundance/Cannes hit Mean Creek which was awarded the Humanitas Prize and the 2005 John Cassavetes Independent Spirit Award. Distributed by Paramount Classics and Focus Features, the film stars Rory Culkin, Ryan Kelley, Scott Mechlowicz, Trevor Morgan, Josh Peck and Carly Schroeder.
Next up for Johnson is What's Wrong With Virginia?, with writer/director Lance Black (HBO's "Big Love") and Anton Yelchin attached to star. Projects currently in development include an adaptation of Rinker Buck's memoir Flight of Passage and Camp Happy Hope from writers Francis and Grifoni, who will also make their combined feature directorial debuts on the project.
