Shawn Williamson

A native of Vancouver, Shawn began his career as a stage manager in live theatre in 1983. He has since produced live events, live television, series, television movies, and feature films. In 2001, Shawn combined his film production expertise with the talents of independent producer Stephen Hegyes to form Brightlight Pictures Inc. Based in Vancouver, B.C., the company develops, finances and produces independent feature films and television projects for the domestic and international marketplace. In addition to producing at Brightlight Pictures Shawn sits on the board of the Whistler Film Festival and the BC Film Advisory Committee.
Shawn's producing credits include: Try Seventeen (Elijah Wood, Mandy Moore), House of the Dead (released by Artisan Entertainment), Jiminy Glick in La La Wood (Martin Short), Alone in the Dark (based on the Atari video game, starring Christian Slater, Stephen Dorff and Tara Reid), Going The Distance (Released by Alliance Atlantis), and White Noise (Michael Keaton, Deborah Kara Unger) which is being released by Universal. Most recently Shawn produced The Long Weekend, an official UK-Canadian co-production with Gold Circle Films UK, (Chris Klein, and Brendan Fehr) and Line Produced Edison for Millennium Films and Emmett Furla Films (Kevin Spacey, Morgan Freeman, LL Cool J and Justin Timberlake).
