Shawn’s producing credits include: White Noise (Michael Keaton, released by Universal), Alone in the Dark (Christian Slater, Tara Reid released by Lion’s Gate Films), The Long Weekend (Chris Klein, Brendan Fehr) and Edison (Kevin Spacey, Morgan Freeman, LL Cool J, Justin Timberlake). Shawn also line produced both Wicker Man (Nicholas Cage released by Warner Bros) and 88 Minutes (Al Pacino) for Millenium Films as well as Whisper (Josh Holloway, Joel Edgerton, Dulé Hill) and Slither (Nathan Fillion, Elizabeth Banks and Michael Rooker, released by Universal) for Gold Circle Films. Shawn produced In the Name of the King (Jason Statham, Ray Liotta, John Rhys-Davies, Ron Perlman, Leelee Sobieski, Burt Reynolds) which opens January 11, 2008. Shawn also produced White Noise II (Nathan Fillion) with Gold Circle Films and Rogue, the television series Saved (Tom Everett Scott) for Fox 21 and TNT, line-produced the independent feature Possession (Sarah Michelle Gellar, Lee Pace) for Yari Film Group, Vertigo Entertainment and Spitfire Pictures, Passengers (Anne Hathaway) for Mandate Pictures, independent feature They Wait (Jamie King), Far Cry (Til Schweiger, Emmanuelle Vaugier), television series About A Girl with the N Network and Global TV. Shawn is producing the television series The Guard (David James Elliott) with Halifax Film and Global TV, and Fifty Dead Men Walking (Ben Kingsley, Jim Sturgess) with HandMade Films and Future Films currently shooting in Belfast. Shawn is currently producing Stormworld an Australian/Canadian Co-Production being shot in Australia, Singapore and Canada. A native of Vancouver, Shawn began his career as a stage manager in live theatre in 1983. He has since produced live events, live television, series, television movies and feature films. In 2001, Shawn combined his film production expertise with the talents of independent producer Stephen Hegyes to form Brightlight Pictures Inc. In addition to producing at Brightlight Pictures, Shawn chairs the City of Vancouver Industry Film Task Force and sits on the board of the Whistler Film Festival, Motion Picture Production Industry Association and the B.C. Film Commission Advisory Committee. Shawn has received several awards including The Canadian Film and Television Production Association (CFTPA) awarded Brightlight Pictures as the recipient of the 2006 CFTPA Entrepreneur of the Year Award and Business Vancouver’s 40 under 40 Award.
