Fire Bay

Plot Summary

In the spring of 1961, a force of nearly 1,200 Cuban exiles - covertly trained and supported by the United States government - invaded the shores of Cuba in a brutal attempt to overthrow Fidel Castro and bring democracy to the island nation. Inspired by true events, FIRE BAY is the first American feature film to present this significant and controversial moment in U.S. history - the Bay of Pigs Operation. From the tense Oval Office of the Kennedy White House to the harrowing battle on the shores of Playa Giron, FIRE BAY dramatizes the individual lives of the men who fought and died, as well as the political maneuverings and moral questions that overwhelmed President Kennedy and the CIA war planners. FIRE BAY explores the political and emotional relationships that were betrayed and transformed during the days leading up to, and during, the historic invasion. FIRE BAY is written, directed and produced by Randall Fried (New Line's HEAVEN IS A PLAYGROUND). The all-star international cast includes Academy Award-nominated actor Robert Forster, Mexican actor Kuno Becker (star of the internationally successful GOAL! franchise), Yancey Arias and Jordi Vilasuso. Director of Photography Kyung-Pyo Hong is a legend in his native South Korea, where his film TAE GUK GI: THE BROTHERHOOD OF WAR was the highest- grossing, most-expensive and most-honored film in the country's history. FIRE BAY is Hong's first feature outside of South Korea. Producers Hector Lopez and Tony Mark join Fried and Executive Producers Rowland Perkins, Basem Zakariya and Daniel Chai in bringing this suspenseful, explosive and character-rich Cold War action drama to the screen.
