Bio
JEFFREY NICHOLSON, the son of acclaimed theater director Larry Nicholson, followed in his father’s footsteps and became immersed in every aspect of theater and eventually film production. A feature article in ON LOCATION MAGAZINE which named him as an emerging young force in film production caught the eye of MTV, and Nicholson immediately began working with music giants ZZ Top, John Mellencamp and Michael Jackson.
He made his directorial debut with the 35mm short film SPIRAL starring Dane Cook, which was submitted to Sundance. Together, he and Cook sold their SPIRAL feature pitch
DADKNAP to Disney, where it is currently being developed, with Cook to star.
Nicholson has been recognized as an Emerging Filmmaker by alwaysindependent.com, included as one of “10 Hot Directors to Watchâ€ by smashcuts.com and was a recent Featured Filmmaker on ifilmpro.com. An established celebrity photographer, Nicholson has shot for ELLE, USA TODAY, OPRAH, SHAPE, MAXIM, and SPORTS ILLUSTRATED.
His latest project THE DRIFTER starring Marshall Bell is currently being developed as a pilot for the Sci-Fi Network and he was recently attached to make his feature directorial debut with his period drama CENTRALIA starring Chris Klein.
A lifelong motocross fanatic, FREE STYLE was Nicholson’s first feature script. His proudest productions (with the help of his wife) are his two children Taylor and Braden, who finally think dad’s pretty cool because of Corbin Bleu’s starring role in FREE STYLE (although none of their friends believe them).
