Bio

The career of Rigel's President and CEO, JOHN LAING spans more than two and a half decades as a top television distribution executive. A graduate of Yale University, Laing began his entertainment career at Warner Brothers Television Distribution, working in both domestic and international programming licensing and distribution for six years. Laing gave up his position as Vice President, Worldwide Sales at Warner Brothers Television Distribution in February 1989 to join Orion Pictures where he developed the company's international film, home video and television division. In March 1990, Laing was named President of Orion Television International, a newly formed subsidiary of Orion Pictures, and went on to mold the company into one of the leading suppliers in the worldwide market, multiplying ten-fold the company's international sales. In October 1993, Laing formed Rigel Entertainment to capitalize on his worldwide television distribution experience. Television shows and theatrical films Laing has executive produced or produced include “ROBOCOP: THE SERIES”, “PACIFIC BLUE” for the USA Network and 13 films based on the work of Mary Higgins Clark.
