Synopsis
Welcome back to Crystal Lake in a chilling re-imagining of the classic horror film "Friday the 13th." Searching for his missing sister, Clay Miller (Jared Padalecki) heads up to the eerie woods of legendary Crystal Lake, where he stumbles on the creaky remains of rotting old cabins behind moss-covered trees. And that's not the only thing lying in wait under the brush. Against the advice of police and cautions from the locals, Clay pursues what few leads he has in the search for his missing sister, Whitney (Amanda Righetti), with the help of Jenna (Danielle Panabaker), a young woman he meets among a group of college kids up for an all-thrills weekend. But they are all about to find much more than they bargained for. Little do they know, they've entered the domain of one of the most terrifying specters in American film history--the infamous killer who haunts Crystal Lake, armed with a razor-sharp machete... Jason Voorhees.

Friday The 13th Killer Cut DVD
Published on: June 9, 2009
t’s been seven years since Jason Voorhees chopped up foolish teens exclusively. Sure he shared screen time with Freddy Krueger in 2003’s crossover FREDDY VS JASON, yes he accumulated quite the body count in the film, yes it was a lot of fun, and yes the film was pretty damn successful, but diehard fans certainly missed that special “alone time” with Mr. Voorhees. Now Jason is back, solely stealing the spotlight and the lives of reckless youngins, and despite a mostly negative critical response and dismal box office staying power, he's still one massive murdering machine.
'Friday the 13th' is out on DVD and Blue-ray June 16th

A Chat with Jason and the Producers of the New Friday the 13th
Published on: August 8, 2008
Reelz Channel has posted an interview with the producers of 'Friday The 13th'. The original horror film was made in 1980 and is now in the process of being rejuvenated for contemporary audiences. The producers admit that they wanted to maintain the original setting of Camp Crystal Lake but insisted they made efforts to avoid Jason being sympathetic.
"...We were always adamant that we wanted to make a movie where Jason Voorhees is a brutal killer. Where he runs and it's real and it's really horrifying. We went through three incarnations of writers before we got what we wanted. Once the tone of the movie was right we went all systems go. What we wanted to do was take it back to what the original movies that took place at a camp. There is a guy who is a terrifying ruthless killer and not a joke and not doing stupid things. We want it to be real and horrifying..."
