We're Editing!!!
Published on September 2, 2008First off let me say that my meeting with Sevendust went very well! Lead singer Lajon Witherspoon and drummer Morgan Rose were very receptive to the idea of creating the title track to Hollywood & Wine. Here to hoping both sides can work out the details and make it happen. Kevin Farley and I have just completed our first week of editing and boy do we like how it's coming together. The chemestry between Chris Kattan and Nicky Whelan is amazing and thank the good lord we have Chaz Palminteri in this film. SO FUNNY! Right now we have been sidlined to put together a teaser trailer. I hope when it is completed we can put it online for everyone to see. That's it for now but I'll be in touch soon! Matt Berman

Hey There!
Published on July 27, 2008Hello everyone! Matt Berman here. Just wanted to give you a quick update on where things are at the moment. The assembly is still a couple of days away from being finished. This actually works out well since Monday morning I'm flying out to meet with the members of Sevendust who are interested in possibly going into the studio to record a song titled Hollywood & Wine. What a great thing this would be if everything can work out. I'll be meeting with them on Tues and return to Los Angeles on Friday morning so we can start cutting. Wish me luck and I'll be in touch soon with an update from the editing room. - Matt Berman

Hollywood and Wine director Matt Berman blogs about the end of shooting
Published on July 10, 2008Well everyone, we did it! Principal photography is done on Hollywood and Wine. The last and final shot being one with Leslie Easterbrook (Hattie) and Miguel Nunez (Hawk Miller). It became one of those moments of magic not written on the page but surfaced because of the talent working together. What a ride it has been. From Pittsburgh to Los Angeles, Kevin Farley and I have created one hilarious picture. Now comes the task of putting it all together and showing the world what we have done. On a personal note I would just like to say this experience will be one I will never forget. what a magical ride it has been and I can't stop writing till I mention a few names that made it possible. Producers Mary Aloe, Henry Boger, Brian Hartman and Alex Tabrizi. Without your help and guidence I wouldn't be writing this. Our set designer Lendie Lee, what you did with your team creating our little world was nothing but spectacular. Thank you to Diane Collins our costume designer. You made me actually enjoy picking out clothes and that is a feat in itself. Our Casting directors Roe Baker (LA) and Nancy Mosser (Pit) Kev and I would work with you again anytime. Major props to Kelly Snyder! (yes she was our Prop person) Lorie Dando (clearances) and Brian Porter who was our assistant in Pit and my personal one in LA. You put up with alot and it was much appreciated. I know I'm forgetting many at Smithfield Street but you took great care of us and did a great job! Last but not least our director of photography Frank Byers. There is so many things to say but i'll just sum it up with this, "Thank you for making us LOOK so good!". Next up we edit and i'll be in touch soon with a progress report. Matt Berman

Hollywood, here we come!
Published on June 19, 2008Hello everyone, In two days we will have finished our Pittsburgh portion of of the shoot and head back to Los Angeles. Today was a great day of filming. This was the first day Chazz Palminteri really got to sink his teeth into playing the role of Geno Scarpaci. Boy was it great to see. He came up with some great stuff and I mean stuff so funny you can't hear yourself laugh. Today was also the day Chris Kattan had a great scene with Kevin and John Farley who play Geno's muscle Bruno and Joey. Friday brings the return of Horatio Sanz who will wrap up his role as Tony. Thats all for now. I'll have an update for you when I get back home to LA. I've added a picture of Kevin and John as Bruno and Joey. -Matt Berman
