  • Exclusive interiew with Inkheart's Paul Bettany

    Published on: January 23, 2009

Bettany has talked to Movieholes Los Angeles correspondent in an exclusive interview about his role in 'Inkheart'. The actor talks about filming in beautiful abandoned towns in Northern Italy, and having an 'obscene amount of fun' with the entire cast. He also talks about the book in which it is based on, relying on imagination for filming, and what's next for the British actor. "Inkheart" is out in theaters today.

"...there's a sort of childish appreciation that you have of sort of just playing. But in this movie, peculiarly, there were very few times that we had to do that. The special effects were often augmenting things that were already there. Like, they lifted up a Jeep. You know, in the storm, they lifted up a Jeep. And then they continued it on, with CGI. And there were huge wind machines..."

  • An interview with Bredan Fraser

    Published on: January 21, 2009

Moviehole has interviewed Brendan Fraser on his third fantasy movie of the year 'Inkheart'. Based on the best-selling book by Cornelia Funke, 'Inkheart' tells the story of a father and daughter who unlock a whole new world through reading -- literally. Fraser talks about his appeal with fantasy films,  the technology involved and where he sees the film industry. Fraser shares that Cornielia Funke had been inspired by him personally for the character Mo 'Silvertongue' Folchart in the trilogy, the enormous amounts of fun eating and drinking on set, and how he's not finished with The Mummy just yet. 'Inkheart' is out in theaters January 23rd.

"...Now, Cornelia's novel, as I'd read or as she had even told me as we came to know each other - do you know how we began to know each other? She sent me a copy of the novel. "Dear Brendan. Thank you for inspiring this character. Flattered. "I hope you can read this aloud to your kids one day. Sincerely, Cornelia Funke." I thought my leg was getting pulled, or I was getting wound up..."
