Based on the book Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game That Changed a Nation by John Carlin, Eastwood’s film once working under the title The Human Factor will now be titled Invictus, named after a favorite poem of Mandela’s.  The film takes a look at the life of Nelson Mandela after the fall of apartheid in South Africa during his first term as president as he campaigns to host the 1995 Rugby World Cup event as an opportunity to unite his countrymen.  The film stars Eastwood’s Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby co-star Morgan Freeman as Mandela, and Matt Damon as the Springboks victorious captain Francois Pienaar.
