  • The Jonas Brothers begin their Surprise Theater Invasion tour in Hollywood!

    Published on: February 27, 2009

    The Jonas Brothers are making their entire film experience all about the fans. The trio began a cross country, multi-city Surprise Theater Invasion tour last night. You guessed it, for their first stop they surprised their fans by showing up at a midnight show at the El Captaion Theater in Hollywood. Not only was it a full house, all reserved seats, but filmgoers started lining up early thursdsay morning.

    Fans went crazyyy from the minute the Jonas Brothers entered the theater. Trivia slides shown on the big screen and a game was played where people came on stage to say why they loved the Jonas Brothers. One girl gave an actual speech about how the brothers had changed her life.

    The brothers performed 3 songs – and obviously everyone in the audience knew every word and sang along. They also had special gues, Big Rob, who came out as a final surprise and rapped. The place came unglued. The El Capitan had to run the movie at top volume (they better do that for star trek), because no one would have been able to hear the dialogue or the music otherwise. As a Disney insider told MovieSet: "It was a really wild evening."

    The brothers were also quoted saying there was nowhere else they'd rather kick of their tour as one of their first performances was held at El Capitan for Meet the Robinsons. The night's frenzy didn't stop there, every single person was wearing something Jonas, leaving the merchadise stand at the soda fountain empty.

    But is that enough to convince the head honchos the Jonas Brother's are number one? Hollywood is wondering if the Jonas Brothers concert movie can match or beat last year's $32.1 million opening of Disney's 3-D Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour. Ticket sales aren't anywhere near the levels of pre-sales for Hannah Montana. Although The Jonas Brothers were nominated for a Grammy for New Artist they still have some catching up with Cyrus.

    Here some stats about the Jonas Brothers craze...

    96% plan to see Jonas 3D this weekend;
    45% plan to take off time from school or work on Friday because of the movie;
    72% are planning a get-together before or after the movie;
    58% have previously seen the Jonas Brothers live in concert;
    65% have previously seen High School Musical 3 on the big screen
    58% saw Hannah Montana 3D
    53% saw Twilight on the big screen;
    96% of respondents are female;
    76% of respondents are 17 or younger;
    54% said Nick Jonas was the brother they’d most like to date.

    ...and there you have it! Jump in on the craze and go check out The Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience in theaters near you.
