Synopsis

Meryl Streep is Julia Child and Amy Adams is Julie Powell in writer-director Nora Ephron’s adaptation of two bestselling memoirs: Powell’s Julie & Julia and My Life in France, by Julia Child with Alex Prud’homme. Based on two true stories, Julie & Julia intertwines the lives of two women who, though separated by time and space, are both at loose ends...until they discover that with the right combination of passion, fearlessness and butter, anything is possible. - In Theaters August 7th, 2009.

    With Meryl Streep having several theatrical awards under her belt, writer-director Nora Ephron could not belive her good fortune when the actrice exstrordinare agreed to star in her film as celebrated cookbook author and TV icon Julia Child.

    Julie & Julia intertwines the lives of two women who, though separated by time and space, are both at loose ends...until they discover that with the right combination of passion, fearlessness and butter, anything is possible.

    Nobody can talk dirty like Jane Lynch. She played the folk singer with a proud porn star past in "A Mighty Wind." In "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," she taught Steve Carell's character the term "f--- buddy."

    Most of her characters have one thing in common: a carnal overconfidence that thrusts her to the front of whatever ensemble she's in.

    She also has a reputation for playing very well with others. Lynch is an honored member of the Christopher Guest improv team, the Judd Apatow comedy fraternity, the "L Word" sorority, and so on.
