George Gallo

George Gallo moved from Mamaroneck, New York, and relocated in Los Angeles in 1982. After four years, he was able to get his first film produced - WISE GUYS, starring Danny Devito and Joe Piscopo. Next came the classic buddy / cops and robbers picture, MIDNIGHT RUN, starring Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin. Then in 1990, George wrote and directed 29TH STREET, starring Danny Aiello and Anthony LaPaglia. It got critical raves.
Gallo's other credits include TRAPPED IN PARADISE, starring Nicolas Cage, Jon Lovitz, and Dana Carvey, BAD BOYS starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, DOUBLE TAKE starring Eddie Griffin and Orlando Jones, DYSFUNKTIONAL FAMILY, a documentary on the life of comedian Eddie Griffin, THE WHOLE TEN YARDS, starring Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry, and CODE NAME: THE CLEANER starring Cedric the Entertainer. Gallo recently completed MY MOM'S NEW BOYFRIEND starring Antonio Banderas, Meg Ryan, Colin Hanks and Trevor Morgan, which will be released in the spring through First Look Studios.
As a painter Gallo has had nearly 20 one-man shows. He is in numerous public and private collections around the world. In 1990 he won the prestigious Art's for the Park's Top 100 Award. He was also a Grand Central Gallery Artist and was included in group shows in major museums, including the Philadelphia Museum of Fine Arts. There are over 400 of Gallo's paintings in his film, LOCAL COLOR.
