Plot Summary

Maverick cop Max Payne (Wahlberg) is hell-bent on revenge against those responsible for the brutal murder of his family and partner. His obsessive investigation takes him on a nightmarish journey into a dark underworld. As the mystery deepens, Max is forced to battle enemies beyond the natural world and face an unthinkable betrayal.

Wahlberg takes on the video game adaptation as Max Payne, an angsty widowed cop blinded by revenge in a gritty dark underworld. Wahlberg talks about why he likes 'Max Payne', and playing the video game. 'Max Payne' also stars Mila Kunis, Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges, Chris O'Donnell and Beau Bridges. 

    "...These kinds of movies are an escape. We're living in a crazy time and we need to have fun for two hours. But if you're asking me why guys like this kind of thing, I have no answer for you..."

    About.com has posted an interview from the 'Max Payne' conference which includes the cast- Mark Wahlberg, Beau Bridges, Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges, and Mila Kunis. The cast was asked about the training they recieved for their roles, what attracted them to the project and what they enjoyed the most about making the film. 'Max Payne' is out in theaters October 17th.

    "...Well, I’ve already said what attracted me to the project was being able to point a gun at Mark Wahlberg and get away with it and live to tell about it today. So, you know, that’s definitely why I signed on to do this movie. Just to point a gun at this man..."

    Mark Wahlberg has taken on the lead role in the new movie 'Max Payne' based on the video game 'Max Payne'. Wahlberg takes some time out to answer some questions with the New York Post. Wahlberg talks about his new character and how much he liked being able to go off as Max Payne. The actor also touches on winning an oscar and his other projects. 'Max Payne' is out in theaters October 17th.

  • Comic Con Interview with Mark Wahlberg

    Moviehole has an interview with 'Max Payne' star Mark Wahlberg. He spoke about his busy work schedule, and amking time for his family. Wahlberg says he never played the 'Max Payne' videogame for fear of spending his whole days in front of the tv and expressed his concerns with adapting the game into a film. 

    “...When I read the script, I was like wow this is awesome. I said where did it come from? They said it was based on a videogame. I said, oh, f--k no, I don't want to do that,” he laughingly recalls. “Then they were like no, it's really cool, and so you got to check it out. So I started doing a little research and then when I saw the game, I realized, wow, the story is really elaborate. There’s a lot going on there, so I was surprised they hadn't made it a movie earlier...”
