After the long hard wait for the second installment of the Twilight franchise fans flocking to the midnight screening of New Moon broke the previous midnight screening record by scooping up an estimated $26.27 million in 3,514 theaters. The previous record holder was Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which opened July 15th with $22.2 million.

Twilight Turns Chilly Little Town of Forks into Unlikely Tourist Hot Spot!

Although Twilight wasn’t shot in Forks, Washington, that’s not stopping Twilight fans from flocking there. Over the last year or so, Forks has morphed from a two-stoplight town, to a Twilight tourist hot spot. All day long, cars pull into the Forks visitor center to grab maps that pinpoint Forks High School, where Bella and Edward first met, City Hall, where Bella’s father works, La Push where Jacob Black tells Bella of Edwards dark secret, and many more spots recognizable to fans.

“You used to say you were from Forks and people would stare,” said Marcia Bingham, director of the Chamber of Commerce, referring to the “B.T.” (“Before ‘Twilight’ ”) days. “Now when they hear where you’re from, they’re breathless.”

And, no, that last item is not a misprint. The recently wrapped New Moon shoot has indeed boosted our local tourism industry. For proof you need look no further than Twilight Set Tours (www.twilightsettours.com), one of a couple of local businesses that have sprung up to meet the demand of excited young women -- and some men -- who would do nearly anything to see the exact spot where, I don't know, Edward did such and such with Bella.

Twilight Cleans Up At MTV Movie Awards

The MTV Movie Awards were a blood bath Sunday night with "Twilight" taking five trophies, including best movie. But it was Sacha Baron Cohen who gave the show its trademark bizarro moment when he landed upside-down on the lap of Eminem, who may or may not have been deeply offended.

"Twilight," the popular vampire drama starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, sucked up golden popcorn trophies for best movie, best fight, best kiss, breakthrough male performance and female performance during Sunday's freewheeling and often-bleeped ceremony at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif.

"The fans are the ultimate driving force," Stewart said while accepting her best female performance trophy (which she promptly dropped on the floor, breaking off a chunk of the golden popcorn). Awards were decided by fan votes.

In addition to being one of the hottest young actors, Robert Pattinson has another talent. Pattinson has a heart filled with the music. Robert Pattinson has plays both the piano and the guitar proficiently, and has since he was 3 years-old. According to OK! Magazine, check the credits when you see New Moon.Pattinson, who is also known for classical style compositions, is said to have two original compositions used in the sequel to Twilight.

As this Robert Pattinson news becomes common knowledge, I can't help but anticipate that Pattinson fans will demand a CD. Twilight and New Moon fans will own the soundtrack. If Robert Pattinson's music is good, or even marginal, his fans are likely to demand more. If music really "spills out of him" like Twilight director Cahterine Hardwicke told OK!, then Pattinson may be in the mood to spill a CD.

Personally, I'd rather see and hear him spill a CD than to spill blood.

Pattinson has Breaking News

Robert Pattinson, who is now filming the second and third movies in the franchise, confirmed Tuesday in Cannes that there will be a fourth installment of the vampire franchise based on the book "Breaking Dawn."

Pattinson told The Hollywood Reporter that he is committed to starring in the final outing to date but doesn't know when backers Summit Entertainment will begin production because of the actor's jam-packed shooting schedule.

Fans have been hoping for a movie version of the fourth novel from Stephenie Meyer's best-sellers, so Pattinson's commitment is the biggest follow up yet. The fourth book centers on Bella and Edward's marriage and her subsequent pregnancy.

.What are your top 5 Anticipated Scenes for New Moon?

While we anticipate for the next installment in the Twilight Saga, I have come up with the help of some Top-notch Twilight Fan-sites, a list with MovieSet's most anticipated scenes for New Moon.

Here's Ours:

The paper-cut scene — You could call this “the beginning of the end” for our favorite human-and-vampire couple. This scene is an essential part of the book and the entire series. This is where Edward decides that he better leave to make Bella safe. Besides, who doesn’t want to see Jasper go all “blood-thirsty-vamp” on Bella?

Bella, Jacob, and Mike at the movies — This is one of the lighter moments in the story. This scene provides some much-need comic relief after Bella’s comatose months. It’s nice to see Bella moving forward, and let’s face it, as much as we adore the pesky-but-adorable Mike Newton, him puking his poor little guts out will provide us with countless laughs.

Bella’s cliff diving — This scene is important because it sets up the second part of the novel perfectly: It is extreme enough to allow Bella to make her statement without risking her life too much. It’s better than, say, her crashing her bike into a tree. Oh, and we also get a peek at some red hair while she’s under water…

Meeting Emily — While this scene is not one that usually comes to mind when thinking of New Moon, it’s vital for the development of the story. Sam and Emily’s story helps Bella understand what “soul mates” truly mean. While meeting Emily, Bella also realizes that the wolves aren’t as safe as she thought they were.

Volterra — This is a given not only because it’s the part that starts to tie up New Moon, but it’s what sets up the sequels. Also, it’s one of the few times where Bella gets to be the heroine instead of the damsel-in-distress.

'Twlight' meets 'Wolverine': Robert Pattinson and Hugh Jackman joining forces

Two of the biggest stars on the planet and a recent Best Actress Oscar winner are making Madeline Stowe's dream come true. The actress best known for her work in "The Last of the Mohicans" will make her directorial and screenwriting debut with the drama "Unbound Captives." More enticing, Variety reports that Robert Pattinson, Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz have joined the cast of the independent film.

A period Western set in 1859, "Captives" will find Weisz playing a woman whose husband is murdered and two children are kidnapped by a Comanche war party. A frontiersman played by Jackman rescues her. Pattinson will play a son, but its unclear if that is Weisz's or Jackman's. Curiously, the plot is strangely familiar to Ron Howard's "The Missing," but "Captives" has a long development history preceding that thriller.

Nikki Reed Will Be In Italy For 'New Moon' -- But Will Her Character?

As filming continues in Vancouver on "Twilight" sequel "New Moon," director Chris Weitz and his young stars are building toward the part of Stephenie Meyer's tale when a distraught Edward (Robert Pattinson) flees to Italy, with Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Alice (Ashley Greene) soon to follow.

Twilighters know that many fan favorites will be left behind during the trip to Italy. One of the stars, however, plans to go along for the ride — even if her character won't.

"...Put it this way: I am not in any of the scenes in Italy, but we've already made sure that I am going to Italy while they shoot that," Nikki Reed laughed, revealing plans to witness the Volturi firsthand. "Because I am sort of obsessed with that portion of the book...."

'Twilight' sequel script found in trash

USA Today By Betsy Taylor A St. Louis beauty salon owner accidentally happened upon one of the hottest Hollywood scripts — the pages from an upcoming Twilight sequel — in a trash bin.

Casey Ray found two scripts, one for the vampire sequel New Moon and one for a different movie titled Memoirs. She decided to return them to the studio making the films. In return, she was invited to attend the movies' premieres, her lawyer said.

"Summit doesn't comment on any of the deals it does," Summit spokesman Paul Pflug said. But he added, "We thank Ms. Ray for doing the right thing."

First stop was Burrard street where we saw Rachelle Lefevre (Victoria) out and about with her little sister. So cute! There were some rude paps/videographers who didn’t stop filming her when she asked them not to take video. Not impressed! Rachelle was showing her little sister around Vancouver and she looked gorgeous! That’s really cool of her to take her little sis around. She wore the coolest sandals… winding gray suede strips of fabric flats with silver studs. Also loved her torn light blue jeans, black leather jacket, and scarf.

There was an all-cast New Moon Wrap Party and Eclipse Kick-Off Party happening at Blue Water. All the cast members were partying in a private room at the restaurant. David Slade was there to kick things off, Stephenie Meyer also, as well as Rachelle Lefevre (Victoria), Rob Pattinson (Edward), Kristen Stewart (Bella), Taylor Lautner (Jacob), Ashley Greene (Alice), Michael Sheen (Aro), Jamie Bower (Caius), Charlie Bewley (Demetri), Dakota Fanning (Jane), Cameron Bright (Alec) and I’m pretty sure I saw Melissa Rosenberg (screenwriter) there.

I saw a couple cast members holding thick manuscripts, including Rob, so I’m PRETTY sure they were possibly giving out Eclipse scripts (with David Slade, Stephenie and Melissa doesn’t it seem possible?). How cool is that?

Dakota Fanning, who is set to play Jane, a sinister vampire with an angelic exterior, arrived Tuesday. Immediately thrust into the fan-demonium, she happily signed photos and posed for pictures outside her hotel before doing some sightseeing and grabbing a bite to eat.

Vancity Allie vists the Twilight New Moon Set with great photos

Vancouver blogger Vancity Allie had a great night out at the new theater set for Twilight’s New Moon where they are filming all the exterior shots.

Here are a few notes from her trip:

"... Two scenes happen here… one where Bella and Jessica go to Port Angeles for a movie, and a second scene where Bella, Mike, and Jacob have that awkward movie date with that scary movie, “The Dead Come Back.""

Here's her insight into how they get the shots:

"There were a number of sidewalk shots, but most of the scenes were shot under the theatre overhang. Cranes and rigs held large diffused light globes, and the sidewalks were lined with bright lights. Plus two spotlights at each end of the block. This was the closest many fans have ever gotten to a Twilight set. It was incredible."

New Moon's Emily may be in the Twilight of her anonymity

On a sunny patio in Vancouver's Strathcona neighbourhood, actor Tinsel Korey is taking a rare breather.

She's just wrapped a role in the Twilight sequel New Moon, the most intensely watched production ever to hit Vancouver, and her new ensemble comic drama Mothers&Daughters hits Canadian theatres Friday.

"I know this is the pinnacle of where things are about to change for me," says Korey, who hasn't worked a day job since a brief stint as a waitress when she came to Vancouver from Toronto as a teen in 2002. "It was happening gradually but I just have an internal feeling that it's about to get a little crazy."

In New Moon, Korey adds sweetness and light as Emily, part of the story's community of natives who befriend lovelorn teen Bella (Kristen Stewart) when her vampire beau (the freshly minted superstar Robert Pattinson) leaves town. Some of those natives have another side as werewolves, and human Emily bears the scars from where her werewolf boyfriend once got too close.

The fan frenzy around all things Twilight has Korey lying low.

He hasn't quite finished up his part in the second 'Twilight' film, 'New Moon,' but Peter Facinelli took time away from playing Dr. Carlisle Cullen to relax and take in the premiere of 'Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.'

Peter Facinelli – 'Dr Carlisle Cullen' in New Moon

So you have started filming?

Peter Facinelli: "We have started filming."

Where are you so far?

Peter Facinelli: "Well, nothing's shot in order but we've shot the…let's see…the birthday scene. We've shot that. And we've the voting scene. I'm not going to tell you what we all voted, but read the book. What else did we shoot? I shot stitching up Bella which was a lovely little scene. I pretty much mostly almost finished. I have a couple other shots to do in May and then we're done."

Have they added more Cullen family scenes?

Peter Facinelli: "You know, it's hard because when you're doing stuff that's based on a book, if you add too much that's not in there the fans don't like it. I think we're… There's always going to be creative interpretations of stuff. But as far as adding stuff, there's so much in it already, it's hard to add. You have a 500 page book that you've got to squeeze down to two hours."

But everyone wanted more of you guys in it.

Peter Facinelli: "Yeah. They're going to have to wait for the third one. We're more in the third and fourth for sure. I saw, which was really funny, I saw Stephenie Meyer at Disneyland. We went to Disneyland – just randomly went to Disneyland with my family and we both were eating dinner at the [Blue] Bayou restaurant, you know, Pirates of the Caribbean. And it was so odd. She walked over and I was like, 'This is too coincidental.' But, I should have told her, 'You know, why did you take the Cullens out of the second book so much?' I did tell her, 'You know what? I'm a little upset I didn't get to go to Italy.' I said, 'Carlisle could have shown up in Italy.'"

He knows those guys.

Peter Facinelli: "He knows those guys. He'd be like, 'Hey, you know, it's all cool. These are my kids.'"

You know, if she's not going to do Midnight Sun, maybe she should just do one focusing on you.

Peter Facinelli: "I think so. I think so. I'll have to meet her up again at Disneyland."

And you also have a series coming up on Showtime.

Peter Facinelli: "It's a Showtime series called Nurse Jackie. It's starring Edie Falco."

Are you getting typecast?

Peter Facinelli: "I guess. This time I don't bite people though. But I have a sexual Tourettes, which is whenever I get nervous I grab boobs. It's kind of a quirky…"

Is that a true thing?

Peter Facinelli: "I don't know. it is in this. It's kind of a crazy look at hospital life through the eyes of a nurse. And I play this doctor that she doesn't really get along with."

That grabs her boobs.

Peter Facinelli: "That grabs her boobs. It's funny. It's a dramedy so it'll be good times."

Do you grab patients' boobs too?

Peter Facinelli: "I try not to. No, but you know what? As a doctor, they don't make me nervous. Edie's character makes me really uncomfortable and nervous all the time. So there's a lot of boob grabbing."

I can't wait to see this.

Peter Facinelli: "It comes out in June. If you want to see me grab Edie Falco's boobs, tune in."

Because there's no boob grabbing in New Moon.

Peter Facinelli: That's a family movie."

Did you read Stephenie's books?

Peter Facinelli: "Of course, all four of them."

Before you shot the first one?

Peter Facinelli: "No. I read the first three before I shot. The fourth one wasn't written by that time. But since then I've read the fourth one. I'm excited for the fourth one because she's pregnant and I'm a doctor. But like any doctor who delivers babies, when she's finally delivering the baby, they're not there. They're off playing golf or on a family thing. They all promise, 'I'll be there,' but then they're not."

Have you gotten used to the Twilight fans?

Peter Facinelli: "I don't know if you ever get used to them. They're not weird. I love them. I love each and every one of them. No, they're great. They're the best fans that you can have. They're so loyal. We've had people camping out all night long on the sets."

For this one, too?

Peter Facinelli: "Yeah, oh yeah. People are like literally in sleeping bags. We shot all night – you know, night shoots – because vampires like to shoot at night. And then we'd come out at 5 in the morning and they'd be in sleeping bags."

And having Chris [Weitz] as the director this time?

Peter Facinelli: "Fantastic. You know, the second time around it's a little easier. You feel like you have like a little bit more money it feels like. The atmosphere is calmer. I think it's going to be good. It's kind of nice having different perspectives, you know, film to film. They just announced the third director too."

David Slade.

Peter Facinelli: "Yeah. No one tells me anything. I had to find out here. No one tells me. They told me what names they were kicking around and I know he was one of them. So now I know they made it official, unless they're trying to trick me into saying it's official."

No. Summit announced it.

"It would certainly solve the problem of Edward vs. Jake, but I remember how broken Bella was when he left in New Moon? And that was when there was still a 0.001% chance in Bella's mind that he would come back.

Hopefully Stephanie Meyer won't put her protagonist (and her readers) through that again, although it does sound like the "I'd-do-anything-for-you-regardless-of-m... mindset that Edward's got going on Lets just keep our fingers crossed that he doesn't die for the final time."

Not only is the up-and-comer adjusting to a new, hyper-famous life after Twilight’s rabid fan base sank their teeth into his brooding portrayal of the undead romantic hero Edward Cullen (and became as addicted to the newly minted star as the saga’s vampire clan is to hemoglobin), he’s also playing the famed Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dalí in his latest film. Little Ashes chronicles Dalí’s formative years at university, where he became embroiled in a complex, obsessive and sexually charged relationship with future poet Federico García Lorca.

Pattinson paints Fandango a portrait of how he climbed into Dalí’s surreality, bares a bit of fang on fame, stays in the shadows during frenzied fan encounters and even offers a nibble of New Moon scoop.

"...So much of my character is in Bella’s head. It’s based on a mixture of memories and nightmares. Bella thinks she is going mad. I get to do some really creepy stuff..."

Cameron Bright prepares for New Moon fame

Bright, 16, hasn’t even started filming his scenes as Alec — part of the Volturi vampire clan and twin brother of Jane (Dakota Fanning) in the Twilight sequel New Moon — yet he has been affected by Twilight mania since the day he was cast.

“It’s going to be kind of weird,” admits the Nanaimo, B.C., actor who confesses he had to be dragged to see Twilight, the first in a series of movies based on Stephenie Meyer’s popular romantic teenage vampire novels.

“All the guys were saying, ‘It’s a chick movie,’ but it was really good,” Bright recalls. “I’m glad to be a part of it.”

The Twilight Saga - Wolf pack actors grin and bare it for New Moon

The wolf pack is ready to howl.

Unlike cold-blooded neck biters, these poster guys for animal magnetism are literally hot. So hot that their temperature runs a steady 108 degrees, as anyone who has read Stephenie Meyer's series of Gothic romances knows.

Meet the wolf pack in Wanted: Birth and brawn By Susan Wloszczyna, USA TODAY.

Four actors — Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier, all with Native American heritage — join Taylor Lautner, 17, who returns as a hairier, scarier Jacob Black. The plotline finds Jacob growing closer to a distraught Bella (Kristen Stewart) after her vampire beau, Edward, runs off.

What does it take to be part of the wolf pack?

Among wolf pack job requirements is the ability to work half-naked no matter what the weather in the Vancouver, B.C., area, where the film has been shooting for several weeks.

"It's not pleasant for the actors," says director Chris Weitz. "But they have all been good-natured. They show up on location in drenching, cold rain, and I say, 'OK, off with the robes.' "

It took a couple of months and thousands of hopefuls to find a quartet that fits the requirements for New Moon's wolf pack.

No. 1 on the list: Native American or First Nation ancestry, because their characters belong to the Quileute tribe, based in La Push, Wash., both in the book and in real life.

"They had to have papers that proved their heritage," says director Chris Weitz, who was the one who insisted on hiring within the community. "And they had to be in good physical shape."

The Twilight sequel is filming now, and between takes, the actors usually are working out with barbells, doing push-ups or chowing down on steak, Weitz says. "They went through wolf camp together, and they are in constant training. It paid off as a bonding thing for them and helped them to get to know one another. They drove each other to get more buff."

No amount of weightlifting, however, would allow them to act out the wolf portion of their performances; the beasts are about the size of horses and race around on all fours.

Canadian actor Graham Greene joins cast of Twilight sequel New Moon

Veteran Canadian actor Graham Greene has joined the cast of New Moon, the sequel to the massive Hollywood hit Twilight,based on the popular vampire romance novels of Stephanie Meyers.

The teen coming-of-age books focus on high school student Bella Swan's relationship with the vampire Edward Cullen.

New Moon — which films on Vancouver Island and in the Tuscany region of Italy — focuses on a growing friendship between Bella, played by Kristen Stewart, and childhood friend Jacob Black, played by Taylor Lautner.

The 56-year-old Greene appears as Harry Clearwater, an old friend of Bella's father and a Quileute tribal leader.

Greene was nominated for an Oscar for his supporting role in the 1990 film Dances With Wolves and has since appeared in the films Transamerica, The Green Mile, Die Hard: With A Vengeance and the TV series Northern Exposure.

Twilight Sequel New Moon Filming Halted Due to Legal Action!

TWILIGHT sequel NEW MOON has been thrown into jeopardy - author STEPHENIE MEYER is facing a plagiarism lawsuit over the vampire franchise, according to reports.

The original 2008 movie - starring Robert Pattinson - was a major international hit and has spawned a follow-up which is currently being shot in Canada. The film franchise is based on the popular book series, written by Meyer.

But production on the second film has reportedly been halted following claims Meyer is facing legal action from her former college roommate, who is said to have accused the writer of basing the novels on her ideas.

According to I'mnotobsessed.com, Heidi Stanton - who studied alongside Meyer at Brigham Young University, Utah - claims the vampire books are similar to a short story she wrote when she was a student there.

Planning Has Begun on Final 'Twilight' Entry, 'Breaking Dawn'

The fourth and final film in the "Twilight" teen vampire series is in the works, TheWrap has learned.

With the sequel to the blockbuster hit "New Moon" now filming in Vancouver and its sequel, "Eclipse," already deep in the planning stages, an individual close to the production has told TheWrap that work on the fourth and final in the series, "Breaking Dawn," will start in late spring 2010.

Summit Entertainment spokesman Paul Pflug declined to confirm or deny the report, saying only, "Summit has no comment on that rumor at this time."

New Moon movie set photos of Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart give us an idea of what to expect

Thanks to Lainey Gossip, who seems to get all the photographic scoops on The Twilight Saga: New Moon and its cast, we have a new array of on-set photographs to opine about.

[* Warning * The following may contain spoilers for those who have not read New Moon.]

A couple in particular grabbed my attention. The first, of Bella (Kristen Stewart) holding a camera, might make one believe that the birthday present from Charlie (Billy Burke) is a definite inclusion in the film (not that we doubted it). In New Moon, Bella receives the camera, and it becomes a major part of her tormentous break-up with Edward. Yet, this is a digital camera, and in the book, the camera is not. I'm sure this remediable, since digital photos, too, are erase-able. Nevertheless, as this is, to fans, a most important scene for The Twilight Saga: New Moon to get right, this photo may give us a reason to believe it shall.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon is picking up speed with its casting lately. Joining the likes of returnees Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Jackson Rathbone, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Peter Facinelli, Nikki Reed, Elizabeth Reaser, Billy Burke, Michael Welch, Christian Serratos, Anna Kendrick, Justin Chon, Edi Gathegi, Rachelle Lefevre, and Gil Birmingham, will be Michael Sheen, reports say.

First we saw the addition of Dakota Fanning to the cast list for the role of Jane. Then, the wolfpack and Heidi were announced (actors Bronson Pelletier, Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson Houseman alongside Taylor Lautner for the wolfpack and Noot Sear for Heidi), then we got wind that Sweeney Todd star Jamie Campbell-Bower would become Caius in the Twilight series films, and now (as my friends over at Cullen Boys Anonymous so kindly pointed out), we can add Michael Sheen to the list for the part of Aro, also a Volturi coven member who, alongside Caius, reigns over Volterra (and pretty much the vampiric world as we know it in Twilight).
