Read More »Seattle P.I has posted an interview with 'Married Life' director Ira Sachs. The film stars Chris Cooper, Pierce Brosnan, Patricia Clarkson and RAchel McAdams. He talks about the setting of the film, it's tone, as well as adapting a pulp novel into a film.
"People often say that you can make a movie out of a pulp fiction better than a movie out of a classic and I think there is some reason for that because there's something more you can play with. I think in a way that's the tension in the film, because it is a genre film on some level and yet it's told in a naturalistic fashion."

"Life has remained very normal, thank goodness," he says. "My notoriety is not such that I can't handle it."

She talks about some of her latest film projects, including 'Lars and the Real Girl', the film's she's just finished shooting. She also talks about her 'Married Life' co-stars Chris Cooper, Pierce Brosnan and Rachel McAdams, as well as what it was like to work with director Ira Sachs.
"He's an actor's director. He loves his actors. God bless him. He doesn't give up on us. He creates a beautiful environment for us to work in, and that's what great directors do. Great directors set the tone from the moment you walk in in the morning, and you're in hair and make-up, and they come in. They don't bring in their trauma to you. You have enough trauma as an actor. It's about the work. It's about being creative, being challenged."
