Miller revs up for motocross

Penelope Ann Miller has joined "High School Musical" star Corbin Bleu in Rigel Entertainment's motocross action-drama movie "Free Style."

Previously titled "Metal Birding," the film, which began lensing in November in Vancouver, also has a new director in William Dear, who replaced Jeff Woolnough ("Taken," "Battlestar Galactica"). No reason was cited by Rigel for the change.

Additionally, real-life motocross star Grant Langston and Sandra Echeverria have joined the cast, which includes Matt Bellefleur and Madison Pettis.

Rigel races ahead with Corbin Bleu in 'Free Style'

Los Angeles-based Rigel Entertainment is set to begin principal photography this November in Vancouver on the Corbin Bleu (of "High School Musical" fame) helmed "Free Style," an action-filled tale of perseverance and sacrifice set in the physically demanding world of motocross. The coming-of-age film tells the tale of a racer who dreams of winning the Amateur National Championships, but must also help his single mom pay the bills.

'Free Style' to begin production

Rigel Entertainment will begin production on its teen motocross movie Metal Birding, which stars Corbin Bleu (High School Musical), this November in Vancouver. The movie revolves around 19-year-old Cale (Bleu), a motocross racer, and his dream of winning a championship while he also works two jobs to help his family. Directed by Jeff Woolnough (Taken, Dark Angel, Battlestar Galactica), Metal Birding is a Rigel Entertainment presentation in association with Up North Entertainment. Rigel holds the worldwide rights to the picture.

LA's Rigel Entertainment is poised to begin principal photography on an action-filled movie featuring High School Musical star Corbin Bleu. Bleu of HSM fame to star in feature film

L.A.-based Rigel Entertainment is set to begin principle photography next month in Vancouver on a full-length theatrical starring High School Musical's Corbin Bleu.

'Free Style' casts Bleu as 19-year-old Cale Bryan, a superstar racer on the local motocross circuit.

The coming of age story features personal and professional ups and downs that is expected from the sports film genre. Rigel Entertainment owns the worldwide rights to the film and expects it to hit theaters in late 2008.

Bleu leaving Disney for 'Free Style'

"High School Musical" co-star Corbin Bleu is leaving the Disney Channel fold to topline "Free Style," a motocross actioner for Rigel Entertainment.

Bleu will portray a motocross racer who dreams of winning the Amateur National Championships, but must juggle his passion for the sport while struggling to support his family.
