Actor Guy Pearce was tying himself in emotional notes about the prospect of playing the famous escapologist Houdini.

The Birmingham Post has posted an interview with 'Death Defying Acts' star Guy Pearce. The actor, who plays famed magician Harry Houdini, says he needed a lot of preperation  for the character. It wasn't all mental, since Houdini was a very strong and muscular man.

Even though the film is a game of cat and mouse between Peace's Houdini and Catherine Zeta-Jones' Mary McGarvie, the Australian actor had to train for weeks with free-diving record holders. He had to be completely submerged under water for a scene, which he found to be calming, while the producers ran around stressed out.
