The Red Awn to screen at the Edinburgh International Film Festival
Posted May 8th, 2008Directed by Cai Shanjun, 'The Red Awn' will make it's UK premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. The film is described as 'Delicate in its treatment of relationships, and vibrantly shot, this is a true gem.' The festival is in it's 62nd year, and runs June 18th to 29th and will screen 142 features from 29 countries around the world.
The film will play Thursday June 19th at 17:30 and Friday June 20th at 20:00.

The Red Awn to screen at Seattle International Film Festival
Posted May 2nd, 2008Variety reports that 'The Red Awn' will be part of the New Directors Showcase at the Seattle International Film Festival. Directed by Cai Shangjun, the film is a drama about a father who abandoned his son returning after five years. Seattle will mark it's North American premiere.

Five years pass, during that time his wife passes away and his son grows up in the countryside alone and directionless.
