The Sistahs

Bre (Vivica A. Fox), Kim, Zell and talk-show host Okra are Girlfriends who like to get together for drinks and talk about men. When Zell explains she’s seeing several NBA players at once, Bre reveals she’s just turned down her boyfriend’s (Amaad) marriage proposal. The girls remind her that the chance for a black woman getting married after 30 is like winning the lottery and Bre decides to change her mind, quick! But the dejected Amaad meets the blonde and beautiful (and white) Kelly and when Bre turns up at Amaad’s hotel room, she finds them in bed together.

Bre relates this to her friends and Okra is furious at the way “their men” are always lusting after White Girls. Amaad confides with his pal Sloan (Okra’s producer and lover) what’s happened and Sloan senses Big Trouble brewing. At the show’s offices, Okra & Sloan try to rally the troops since their ratings are down, and Okra decides to do a show on “the White Girl thing”. Amaad tries to explain things to Bre, but she’s not hearing it and during a cab ride, things get so heated, she pepper sprays him.

At the show’s taping, Okra lets loose and interviews Claude, a white Aryan racist, who explains why White is better. But she doesn’t agree, of course, and insists the studio audience “whip his ass” and they do; we later find out that Claude is a fake and is actually Okra’s gay stylist pal. Amaad convinces (actually, blackmails) Bre to have dinner with him, but things turns hostile and, sure enough, she pepper sprays him again!

The next day, during a remote shoot, Okra meets Jack, a chubby White guy and she finds herself attracted to him (he feels the same way). With ratings climbing, Okra continues to shamelessly play the “race card”. Bre relents and invites Amaad over for a “booty call”. Sloan “coaches” him not to, but Amaad can’t resist and he and Bre have wild and crazy sex.

But as Okra’s media star rises, she finds herself increasingly attracted to Jack. Amaad proposes again to Bre, but she rejects him again, preferring to keep their relationship sexual. In the meantime, Bre finds herself pursued by British producer Ian, who wants to bed her as well. Sloan suspects Okra is two-timing him and hires Pleasure, a funky private detective to find out the truth.

As Ian continues to aggressively pursue Bre, Pleasure follows Okra and Jack to a motel and tries to get evidence of their affair. But as he tries to get onto their balcony to take pictures, he falls to the ground. Unfortunately, a giant, and very horny, Great Dane is waiting for him and Man’s Best Friend get a whole new meaning!

Amaad again tries to win back Bre and finally does. But Sloan “outs” Okra’s interracial fling and a backlash ensues against the TV star. Realizing her own hypocracy, she owns up to it on her show and advises her audience to just find someone they can love, no matter what the circumstances are.
