With little to no advertising Paranormal Activity has been building abnormal amounts of buzz thanks to a carefully crafted marketing plan by Paramount Pictures. Through audience recommendations spreading through Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo and fansites, the demand for Paranormal Activity has become so great that theater owners have been calling Paramount asking to play the film. And the demand only continues to grow as the film has gone from a limited release, screening only at midnight at a select few theaters, to expanding to 46 more markets and more than 170 theaters playing the film throughout the day and evening.
