Bio
Christophe Lamot was born in Belgium on November 3, 1979. This young autodidact is quickly attracted by everything related to sound and picture. At the age of 15 he directs his very first video clip for school homework: 'Comic Dance' (5 min), and selects a nicknameL 'Doctor Chris'. Ambitious, he continues into music production and has some recognition in the business. Indeed he worked with major artists of the electronic music scene in Belgium such as Oliver Adams from Praga Khan or Luc Van Acker to name a few. At 23 he decides to go to the United States and finally gets a contract to perform in Washington, this will become a drama which will mark him for life. Because of the paranoiac atmosphere next to 9/11 he got arrested and held in custody at US customs. He has been humiliated, threatened and roughly handled for hours just because of a misunderstanding before being sent back to Belgium. He had to cope with the post traumatic shock but in his mind some script ideas started to pop up. By the time he returns, he achieved his for short movie in one month's time: 'Snug Movie' (14 minutes). This was about the wanderings of a schizophrenic. He actually feels better behind the camera and directs some clips to define his own style: fake advertising, interviews and various clips with many crazy characters. During a cold winter night he sees a TV commercial praising the qualities of the last generation vacuum cleaner and an idea come up: 'Vacuum Killer' or the story of a man who transplants a vacuum cleaner in place of his arm in order to clean up society. Pastiching z movies as well as 'Revenge Movies' he denounces the excesses of overprotectionism and the consumer society. He managed to finish his first feature movie (75 minutes) which was released on DVD and shown at Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival as well as other alternative festivals. Boosted by relief he obtains when directing he continues with the new feature movie 'Silence Ca Tue!' under the nickname of Ljo Menzow and this is just the beginning...
