When you see Nick Frost in films, often it’s along side his buddy Simon Pegg in flicks like the zombie comedy Shaun of the Dead, or action spoof Hot Fuzz, but for his upcoming film Pirate Radio Frost breaks free from his comrade' comfort zone to embrace a new character. In the film, Frost place Dr. Dave, a member of a band of rogue deejays who captivated British radio listeners in the ’60s, playing the music that defined a generation and boldly defying the government that tried to shut them down.
"…It was good for me that I didn't have the safety harness of being with my two best friends," notes Frost, referring to Pegg and Wright. "And, I really had to pinch myself knowing that I have an acting face off with Bill Nighy and Philip Seymour Hoffman almost every day…."

Although Writer/director Richard Curtis’ (Love Actually, Bridget Jones's Diary, Four Weddings and a Funeral) Pirate Radio is loosely based on fact, the film is far more of a fictitious re-imagining of the pirate radio fad, than an actual account of true events. Although Pirate Radio may not be based on a true story, the spirit of the 1960’s is still captured in the film, not only with eclectic clothes, free love and substance abuse, but also by featuring music by a long list of iconic musicians that rocked the era.Read more about Pirate Radio here.
