  • Diaz Deep Six’s Bubbly Blond Roles For a Darker Part in ‘The Box’

    Cameron DiazYou may be use to seeing Cameron Diaz in bubbly blond roles like There's Something About Mary, Charlie's Angels and The Holiday, but recently Diaz has taken an acting 360 to play deeper roles in darker films.  Earlier this year, Diaz played Sara Fitzgerald, a protective and tormented mother prepared to do anything to save her cancer-suffering daughter in My Sister’s Keeper, while in her upcoming film The Box, she plays a suburban mother given the choice between a clean conscience, or a million dollars at the cost of a strangers life.

    "…When I make a film, I really just do it for myself and the experience I think I might have in them, because that's all I have got. That's the first thing I leave the film with and who knows how the film will go and how people are going to receive it? The experience is mine forever…"

  • Cameron Diaz's 'The Box' trailer: Are you button hooked?

    The trailer for the upcoming Cameron Diaz/James Marsden movie The Box is out, and there are so many "outside the box" or "steps into the batter's box" puns to make that I simply cannot choose. BYO box pun.

    The movie, based on the Richard Matheson short story, is about a mysterious stranger (rather than those totally explainable ones, you know how it goes) who offers Norma and her husband Arthur $1 million to push a weird button -- which, he says, will kill someone they don't know. Push it? Don't? The human condition/greed/WWJD/where do buttons like that come from/etc then for about two hours.
