Synopsis
The true story of Ernie Davis, two-time All-American running back for Syracuse University who led his team to the national championship in 1960. In 1961, he became the first black man to win the Heisman Trophy. Later that year, he was the first pick in the NFL draft. But Davis never got the chance to play professional football, he was diagnosed with leukemia during the summer of 1962 and died nearly a year later.

The Daily News has sat down with "The Express" star Rob Brown. Rob Brown portrays the story of Ernie Davis, a college football player who not only broke records, but pushed beyond the color barrier in the late 1950s. Brown talks about his hardcore diet and exercise regime to prepare for the role, which included no red meat, dairy, or sugar. Brown also touches on his first role in "Finding Forrester" and his New York lifestyle."The Express" also stars Dennis Quad and is out in theaters October 10th.
"...I'm an avid New Yorker. I still live here, I don't live in L.A. I plan on living in New York for the rest of my life. The only hats I own are Yankees hats. Part of that was an indirect reaction to people at my college - they're a bunch of Red Sox fans..."

MoviesOnline has interviewed Rob Brown who plays Ernie Davis, two-time All-American running back for Syracuse University in 1960. Brown talks about the entire experience including the research, real football vs. filming football, and the Davis family. Brown also talks about what the audience will get from the film, what he enjoyed and what inspired him the most. "The Express" is out in theaters October 10th and also stars Dennis Quad, Frank Grillo and Darrin Dewitt Henson.
..The most inspiring thing is the fact that people look at him as such as example. They ask themselves what would Ernie do? You know those bracelets What Would Jesus Do bracelets? Now blasphemy aside, that’s the kind of impact he had on people. People would think about things and say well what would Ernie do in this situation?..."

Paul Fischer has an exclusive interview with "The Express" star Dennis Quade. Quade talks about the pressures of the business and the emotional response he felt with "The Express". Quaid choose the film in particular because of its story and its message of living your life gracefully and to its full effect. Quaid also chats about father hood, his coming to acting and the ups and down of a hollywood career.
"...my Dad was a frustrated actor, and I used to watch a lot of movies with him, and he would point out his favorite actors. And I think it kind of came up from that, then being in the drama department, and having an acting teacher. But when I would go to the movies when I was a kid, I would come out feeling like I was John Wayne, or I was Steve McQueen. Especially Steve McQueen...'
