John Davis (William Hurt) moves his family to a cabin high in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. He is there to oversee a new dam that will provide much needed power to the area. On their first night his youngest daughter Maggie, thinks she sees a Baby Bigfoot snooping around the backyard. " It was just a dream", her older sister, Khrisy, tells her. But Maggie's not so sure. The next day Khristy and Maggie are visited by Ranger Steve (John Rhys- Davies), an expert on Bigfoot lore. He tells the children, " Bigfoot are dream walkers who visit children in their dreams and teach them to respect the woods." But Maggie is certain the legendary creatures are real. That night Baby Bigfoot returns and Maggie follows him into the woods. Maggie gets lost Baby Bigfoot has to bring back is Momma to rescue her. Momma Bigfoot takes them back to the Bigfoot's hidden cave. The Bigfoot show her that the new dam will flood the valley and force the Bigfoot out of their home. " My Daddy can help us", Maggie promises. John and Khisty refuse to believe that the Bigfoot are real until Momma Bigfoot reveals herself and brings them to the secret cavern. John agrees to help them but the Bigfoot will not allow themselves to be seen by any one else. The Davis family and Ranger Steve must help the Bigfoot save their home while protecting their secret and ancient way of life in THE LEGEND OF SASQUATCH.
