Red Harvest: Son Reaps What Father Sows
Posted April 19th, 2008
Filmpresci has reviewed 'The Red Awn'. The film is about a 50 year old father that leaves his wife and son back in their hometown and goes off to the city in order to earn a living. Five years pass, during that time his wife passes away and his son grows up in the countryside alone and directionless.
"The movie offers a fine insight into both the main characters' inner motivations. Their personal tragedies become easy to understand although that doesn't necessarily make these people much easier to forgive. That is quite a rare achievement in portraying characters in any medium. "
