Bio
CHRIS AUGUST has designed an array of motion pictures, including a slate of the hit Jim Varney "Ernest" movies: Ernest Goes to Africa, Ernest in the Army, Slam Dunk Ernest, Ernest Goes to School, Ernest Rides Again, Ernest Scared Stupid and Ernest Goes to Jail. Other films include Chaos, MXP: Most Extreme Primate, Kevin of the North, Pirates of the Plain, The All New Adventures of Laurel & Hardy in "For Love or Mummy," and Deadlocked: Escape from Zone 14. August has designed TV series such as John Doe and Maybe It's Me, and the MOWs Dad's Week Off, An Unexpected Family, To Brave Alaska, The Limbic Region, When the Vows Break, Tears and Laughter: The Joan and Melissa Rivers Story, This Can't Be Love, and When a Stranger Calls Back. Most recently, he designed the upcoming Battle in Seattle and War.
Production Designer- Job Description
The PD is engaged when the scale of, or the approach to, the production requires special coordination between several departments. The PD's duties include: (a) generating set design sketches and renderings, location selections and treatments; and design concepts relating to the set decoration, properties, special effects, lighting, costuming, make-up and hair; (b) collaborating with the Producer, Director and DOP to realize these elements on film; (c) working with the Director and DOP to determine key shots; (d) establishing production budgets and schedules in conjunction with the Producer and Director; (working the the Art Director and the applicable departments to achieve the style of a motion picture production.
