‘The Road’ and ‘Youth in Revolt’ to be screened at 2009 TIFF

Coming to this years Toronto International Film Festival are The Weinstein Company and Dimension Film’s Youth In Revolt and The Road.
Youth In Revolt is an outrageous and heartwarming tale of Nick Twisp (Michael Cera) and his quest to win the heart of Sheeni (newcomer Portia Doubleday) and hopefully lose his virginity along the way. Based on C.D. Payne's cult-hit novel of the same name, Youth In Revolt is directed by Miguel Arteta ("The Good Girl") and features an all-star ensemble cast including: Steve Buscemi, Ray Liotta, Justin Long, Jean Smart, Ari Graynor, Fred Willard, Zach Galifianakis, Mary Kay Place and more.
The highly anticipated big screen adaptation of the beloved, best-selling and Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Road follows a father (Mortensen) and his young son (Smith-McPhee) as they journey across a barren America that was destroyed by a mysterious cataclysm. Academy Award-nominee Viggo Mortensen leads an all-start cast featuring Charlize Theron, Robert Duvall, Guy Pearce and young newcomer Kodi Smit-McPhee in this epic post-apocalyptic tale of survival.

The 34th Toronto International Film Festival approaches! This years festivities include 271 features and 64 shorts from 64 countries to screen over the den-day event, starting September 10th. As one of the world’s most important cultural events, the Festival consistently strives to set the standard for excellence in film programming. Audiences are exposed to the work of emerging talent and masters of the cinema craft from around the world. Some of the titles screening this year include: Agora, Dorian Gray, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and Jennifer’s Body.
