• ‘Toy Story 3’ Continues Character Continuity

  In the past it was commonplace for a character in a film to be played by many actors depending on how many sequels were spawned, but these days, film makers take their character continuity seriously! Now on their third sequel, the Toy Story franchise continues to assemble the original star-studded cast from the first two movies, as well as adds a few new familiar voices to their ensemble. Toy Story 3 stars original cast members Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, John Ratzenberger, Wallace Shawn, Don Rickles, Joan Cusack, Estelle Harris, John Morris and Laurie Metcalf as well as new additions Michael Keaton, Whoopie Goldberg and recently announced Kristen Schaal. Also new to the cast is Blake Clarke, who will replace the late Jim Varney in the role of Slinky Dog. In Toy Story 3 Woody, Buzz, and the rest of their toy-box friends find themselves dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, departs for college.

• Tim Allen Welcomes Space Ranger Home from Infinity and Beyond

  Comedy superstar Tim Allen, who provides the voice of Buzz Lightyear in Disney*Pixar’s Toy Story, Toy Story 2 and the upcoming Toy Story 3, offered an official thumbs up to the space ranger this week for spending more than 15 months in space onboard the International Space Station as part of a NASA-Disney educational outreach collaboration. Buzz returned home aboard Space Shuttle Discovery STS-128 on September 11. He’ll be treated to a ticker-tape parade down Main Street, U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida on Oct. 2, which coincides with the big-screen return of Toy Story and Toy Story 2—this time in a Disney Digital 3D double-feature. The Toy Story celebration culminates in a brand new adventure starring Buzz and Woody: Toy Story 3— in theaters June 18, 2010.

• New 'Toy Story 3' character cameo in 'Up'

  The makers of Pixar’s Up have revealed that a brand new Toy Story 3 character makes an appearance.

  The animated movie revolves around an elderly man who uses helium balloons tied to his house to fly to South America. Producer Jonas Rivera confirmed that there will be a fleeting glimpse of the new creation for moviegoers who pay close attention, MTV News reports.
