When a Man Falls in the Forest goes German
Published on: January 31, 2007Vancouver's Insight Film Studios is pleased to announce that When a Man Falls in the Forest will host its world premiere on February 12th, 2007, at the prestigious 57th Berlin International Film Festival. Only 22 feature films were chosen from among thousands of entries worldwide to screen in the festival's Main Competition. When a Man Falls in the Forest was one of them.
Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee Sharon Stone (Casino) and Academy Award winner Timothy Hutton (Ordinary People) will be attending the red carpet premiere, along with producers Kirk Shaw of Insight Films, Mary Aloe of Proud Mary Entertainment and writer/director wunderkind, 25-year-old Ryan Eslinger.
The indie existential-style drama involves three lonely men, one of whom is played by Hutton, whose lives intersect as they search for a connection to overcome a deepening sense of isolation. Stone plays the role of Karen Fields, an unhappily married woman who relieves the stress of a painful personal life by shoplifting. Intriguingly, she may also be guilty of luring a posse of police-appointed psychoanalysts into a seductive game where lust leads to madness and passion leads to murder.
When a Man Falls in the Forest also stars Dylan Baker (Happiness, Spider Man 2) and Pruitt Taylor Vince (Monster). The film is jointly produced by Kirk Shaw of Insight Films and Mary Aloe of Proud Mary Entertainment. Sharon Stone was one of the film's executive producers. Foreign sales are being helmed by executive producer John Laing of Rigel Entertainment.
