Vancouver's Insight Film Studios is pleased to announce that When a Man Falls in the Forest will host its U.S. premiere on March 10th, 2007, at the prestigious South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas. Only 16 feature films were chosen from among thousands of entries worldwide to screen in the festival's Main Competition at the Paramount Theatre. When a Man Falls in the Forest was one of them. Producer Mary Aloe of Proud Mary Entertainment and writer/director wunderkind, 25-year-old Ryan Eslinger, will be attending the red carpet domestic premiere. The indie existential-style drama involves three lonely men, one of whom is played by Hutton, whose lives intersect as they search for a connection to overcome a deepening sense of isolation. Stone plays the role of Karen Fields, an unhappily married woman who relieves the stress of a painful personal life by shoplifting. When a Man Falls in the Forest also stars Dylan Baker (Happiness, Spider Man 2) and Pruitt Taylor Vince (Monster). The film is jointly produced by Kirk Shaw of Insight Films and Mary Aloe of Proud Mary Entertainment. Sharon Stone was one of the film's executive producers. Foreign sales are being helmed by executive producer John Laing of Rigel Entertainment. Incorporated in 1990, Insight Film Studios is Western Canada's fastest growing independent film and television production company. Based in Vancouver, it ranks as one of the top ten production companies in all of Canada. In 2006, the company began its foray into the theatrical realm, and is now in the midst of successfully completing five feature films. Together, Insight and Proud Mary Entertainment have had a banner year, bridging the gap between Hollywood and Hollywood North (Vancouver). Along with When a Man Falls in the Forest, the two recently produced the dark romantic comedy Numb starring Matthew Perry and Mary Steenburgen as well as the political action drama Battle in Seattle, starring Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, Channing Tatum, Ray Liotta and Actor/hip hop star Andre Benjamin (Outkast). They are also currently shooting While She Was Out, a female-driven thriller starring Academy Award winner Kim Basinger, which began principal photography on February 12. The two companies, which specialize in producing cost-effective indie films starring A-list actors, are also in pre-production on Tortured, a psychological thriller that goes to camera on April 15. A slate of acclaimed actors is currently being considered for the lead roles.
