New York Daily News has posted an article on 'Zack and Miri Make A Porno.' Directed by Kevin Smith, the film stars Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks. Smith says he enjoys searching for porn in the morning, more out of curiosity than for arousal.

First Showing has posted a review of 'Zack and Miri Make a Porno'. Directed by Kevin Smith, the film screened at the Toronto International Film Festival. Seth Rogen and Elisabeth Banks star as two friends who set out to do just what the title suggests, make a porno.

Slash Film has posted a review of 'Zack and Miri Make a Porno'. Directed by Kevin Smith, the comedy stars Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks. Although the film was almost given an NC17 rating beacuse of the vulgar jokes, Smith was able to appeal, and 'Zack and Miri' is now only rated R.

"...The first 30 minutes of the film is the funniest half-hour Smith has ever written/directed. As a studio executive would say, there are more laughs per a minute in the first third, than probably any of Smith’s previous films. Thank god Smith won the MPAA appeal..."

Smith also talks about the challenges along the way- from places refusing to advertise to being barred from some screening. ‘Zack and Miri Make a Porno’ is out in theaters now.

“…when everyone was kind of running around over the last two weeks talking about the economic collapse of our country, I was sitting there going, This just makes our flick more plausible. Like it's a good time for the movie to come out because now people are facing economic hardship. Will they turn to porn? Doubtfully…”

Premiere has posted a Q&A with 'Zack and Miri Make a Porno' director Kevin Smith. The film stars Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks as two friends who decide to make a porno to raise money for rent. He talks about casting choices, showing penis on screen, and his favorite porn title and the appeals process after being rated NC17.

"...During the appeals process, you're not just screening for the MPAA, you're screening for the National Association of Theatre Owners. To me, that's the people who should make up the MPAA ratings board, because those are the cats who already know what gets people out of their seats and the theaters. Never mind what the parents think, what do the people who actually deal with the public think? So you screen your movie and get fifteen minutes to make your case..."

MPAA bans Zack and Miri Make a Porno Poster

Oh no! Did I read that title correctly? Kevin Smith must have really made a boo boo with his poster for the upcoming Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Goodness gracious what the heck can be so bad? Kevin Smith has already had issues with the MPAA around the rating for this film and won an appeal to reduce the rating from NC-17 to Restricted. This must really be horrific. The offending poster after the jump (believe me I'm protecting you):

Huh? I don't get it. I see two people each with two other very short individuals standing in front of them. What's so offensive about that? Absolutely nothing. This is an 'if you get it you get it' gag and I don't see how this is offensive to anybody or perverse in any way at all. Perhaps the real perverts are the ones making the judgement that this is perverted. I'm not sure about that I'm just sayin'. People in the Great White North will be able to view the poster as is. "I've always loved Canada and Canadians for giving us hockey," says Smith. "Now, I love 'em just a little bit more. For allowing tufts of hair." Oh, Canada! And I don't mean that in a sexual way. Smith shares his thoughts on making another romantic comedy, and writing the script with Seth Rogen in mind. Since the part was written specifically for him, Smith shares his relief when Rogen accepted and jumped right into the role. Smith also touches on Star Wars porn, the rest of the cast and moving forward.

“…. Granted, this one kind of pushes the edge of the envelope in terms of putting a set of nuts on R2D2, but hopefully, they'll see it in the spirit in which it was done, which was a little bit of reverence and a little bit of risqué I'm used to…”

They wanted it so Kevin Smith is gving it to them. After the MPAA's puritanical furor over what this writer believes to be a harmless site gag used in the first iteration of the poster for Zack and Miri Make a Porno Smith's crack advertsing team had to scramble to come up with a new and less "offensive" poster to promote the has released a new poster for mass consumption. No doubt someone (like the MPAA) will be offended by this one too, but for all the wrong reasons. And ones they can't justify banning the poster for. But, wait! Isn't there a dirty word hiding inside 'titillating'? Uh oh, you're in Dutch again Kevin Smith.

Bush, with Banks playing First Lady Laura Bush, and 'Zack and Miri' is about two old friends who decide to make a porno to make ends meet. She talks about playing both roles, and the fortune of having that opportunity.
